in new york city. the white house said that it's s successful with healthcare.gov it is cyber monday. crews are up righting toppled rail cars as searchers looking for what caused the derailment from new york city. dozens of people were hurt. and the accident is having an huge impact on one of the nation's biggiest commuter rail line. john terrett is in the bronx where they are trai the train c. >> reporter: we're seeing significant progress in righting the derailed train cars. i'll stand aside so our cameraman can go right in so you can see what happened over 24 hours since the accident that killed four people, injured 63, 11 of them seriously. as the second railcar which we think is the four who died were sitting, and most of the injured. and as far as we can tell from our vantage point here those are the only two carriages from yesterday's crashed train which remains off the rails. the others have been righted, according to the ntsb, including the diesel itself, that was put back on the rails in the very early hours of this morning when it was still dark. let's take a look back now

on time. start a new push for the healthcare.gov website. in an event at the white house he will highlight people he says have been helped by his health care reform law and web site. the president also is expected to say that republicans want to strip away benefits without offering an alternative. the government saying most of the glitches on the healthcare.gov website have now been fixed and now that the healthcare.gov website is supposed to be running smoother, consumers are reporting mixed success as they try and log onto the updated healthcare exchange. brokers and online assisters in utah say three of every four people who want to sign up for coverage on the federal government's online exchange are succeeding within an hour of logging in. navigators in wisconsin, illinois, alabama and north dakota reported vast improvement. the website is serving as a healthcare exchange for 36 states which did not or refused to set up their own website. california has it's own exchange at coveredca.com. which has also had some problems. our state exchange has >> a man was killed in a shark attack whi

the healthcare.gov website. the administration promised all would be well in november. we will gather to the white house with more details, mike, this was a big deadline for the administration. are all the problems with the website solved? >> reporter: they aren't all solved but they say its like night and day after that disastrous launch of octobe october 1st. they cite certain benchmarks, certain metrics, error rates down to 1%. they were 6% at the outset of this debacle in the estimation of administration officials. as many as 800,000 a day and they achieved 90% functionality. you recall that by the end of last month, november 31st they had promised an 80% functionality. by their own estimation they have exceeded that. but that's by their own estimation. for the time being we'll have to take their word for it. it's all a anecdotal at this point. there are questions about the website's security when people are entering sensitive personal information and data, and about insurers on the back end, are they getting the correct information to bill customers who are successful in enrollin

healthcare.gov is working for the vast majority of people who try to use it. in a report filled with colorful charts and graphs. the white house uses to measure its success. some 400 software bugs and hardware problems have been fixed. the website can now handle 50,000 users at a time, 800,000 a day. it's now accessible 90% of the time, up from just 40% in october. the man in charge of the website reboot, gave his bottom line in a conference call with reporters. >> healthcare.gov on december 1st is night and day from where it was on october 1st. >> reporter: independent experts say there's little doubt the website is working better. >> for the most part, users can now log in, search for different plans relevant to them. >> reporter: but the fixes have not been tested with heavy traffic. the white house is being cautious, delaying a big marketing push to get people to enroll and advising people to visit the site during off-peak times to avoid delays. some critics say little has been done to address security concerns. >> the security of the site and the private information does not meet even th
